The Dichotomy Of Dermal Fillers: When Does The Biostimulatory Response Become One Of Regeneration Versus One Of Replacement?

The Dichotomy of Dermal Fillers When Does The Biostimulatory Response Become One Of Regeneration Versus One Of Replacement

Since the advent of injectable dermal fillers, the quest for the perfect filler has been a lofty goal. The perfect filler would integrate smoothly into tissue, cause minimal oedema and inflammation, be easily reversible, be devoid of any type of foreign body response, be non-allergenic, be stable and predictable, breaking down into to nonimmunogenic particles and be naturally absorbed or dissolved without incident. Unfortunately, such a filler does not exist. Since the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of injectable bovine collagen in the early 1980s, dozens of injectable filling agents have been developed; but history has taught us that new technologies must be used with care because complications can occur, sometimes many years after treatment (Kontis and Rivkin, 2009).

The Benefits of Face Mapping

How to Market to Men and Women: Approaches that Work

How to MarketMarketing your aesthetic practice should no longer be focused entirely on female consumers. While the majority of patients who undergo aesthetic procedures are still women, the number of men seeking out aesthetic treatments has been steadily growing over the past several years. By developing a marketing strategy for your practice that incorporates the needs and preferences of male consumers, you can successfully expand your client base.

Tips for How to Market To Both Men and Women

Hone in on Tangible Results

While many women get pleasure out of making purchases, male consumers tend to shop only to fulfill a specific need. The Benefits of Working in an Existing Medical Spa Versus Owning One

Medical SpaMedical spas are currently in high demand, as they provide many non-invasive aesthetic treatments for patients. If you’re a medical professional and are interested in getting involved in a medical spa, you can either work for an existing spa or open your own. Both of these options are distinct career choices that offer unique benefits. Here, we’ll discuss these benefits so that you can make the best decision for your needs as a practitioner.

Working in an Existing Medical Spa Doesn’t Require High Start-Up Costs.

The main benefit of working in an existing medical spa over owning your own is that you can avoid high start-up costs. To start your own medical spa, you’ll likely have to invest several hundred thousand dollars to start the business. Unfortunately, it will take a couple of years of working in your spa to recoup those costs and start making a profit. So, while owning a medical spa is a worthwhile investment for many, it’s not the right choice for those who aren’t willing to make a significant upfront financial investment.  (more…)
